Tennessee coneflower is native to cedar glades of Middle Tennessee. It is on the federal list of endangered species and is found naturally occurring in fewer than 10 locations in central Tennessee including Davidson County. Similar to the purple coneflower, it blooms in summer with purple rays and a blackish cone. It prefers full sun and well-drained soil.
