You may cancel your child’s camp registration up to 2 weeks before the first day of that camp. A $35 administrative fee per child per camp will be assessed for all changes and cancellations. Registration changes and/or cancellations cannot be completed online. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to cancel your registration. Camps cancelled with less than 2 weeks before the start date are not eligible for refunds. Unfortunately, we cannot give refunds for missed days of camp. Camps cancelled by Cheekwood because of low enrollment will automatically be refunded in full. Cheekwood will notify you no less than 5 days in advance if a class is cancelled and will try to accommodate your child in another camp session. Please note: Cheekwood cannot ‘switch’ classes. If you cancel a class to register for another, the cancellation is considered a separate transaction and the administrative fee will apply.
In response to many requests over the past several years, this new form enables parents to add their camper(s) to an electronic wait list when they encounter a camp that is full online. The Camp Director will manage the process by contacting parents via EMAIL as seats become available. Please Note: Customers must call or email to cancel a camp and cancellation fees & policies do apply. This electronic wait list is designed to replace calling to add your name to a paper wait list. ALL WAIT LIST INQUIRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED THROUGH THIS ONLINE FORM.
Cheekwood is proud to offer a limited number of summer camp scholarships. Click here to download a Scholarship Application.
Please note: In order for Cheekwood to share the camp experience with as many children as possible, Cheekwood offers 50% and 100% scholarships based on the financial need according to the family's most recent tax return. All requests and information submitted to Cheekwood are confidential and only used to determine financial need.
There is an appropriate age range for each session. For all camps, campers must be the proper age on or before August 1st, 2016 in order to enroll. All campers participating in the 4 year old only camps must be 4 years old and fully potty trained at the time of camp, by June 1st. There are no exceptions to this policy. Cheekwood has the right to cancel or switch the session of anyone registered in the wrong age group.
Cheekwood will make every attempt to serve campers who require special attention or consideration. As we are not a special needs camp, there may be some needs that we are unable to meet. We have a policy not to accept campers whose needs are beyond our training or capabilities. If your child has a special need or a life threatening allergy, please contact the camp director at 615-353-6970 to discuss their needs before registering. We want to prepare the staff and teachers in advance so that we can make your child’s camp experience the best and safest it can be. Camper Aids must be at least 18 years or older.
24-HOUR ILLNESS POLICY
Your child must remain free of fever or vomiting for 24 hours before returning to camp. The 24 hours begins when your child’s fever has broken or last vomited and remains in a normal range. Cheekwood still does not pro-rate missed camp days, in the event of illness.
LOCATION AND CHECK-IN
All camps are held on Cheekwood’s campus at 1200 Forrest Park Drive. Check-in is on the lower level of Cheekwood’s Frist Learning Center on the first day of their session. An authorized adult must accompany camper(s) into the building. *During camp, all camp traffic must enter and exit through the back gate at 111 Cheek Road Drive, Nashville, TN 37205.*
PACK A SNACK & WATER
There will be one snack time during each camp session. Please send a small non-refrigerated snack labeled clearly with your child’s full name. Because of an increasing number of campers with nut allergies, Cheekwood is a nut-free camp. We ask that you refrain from sending your camper with any food containing nuts. Water fountains are available to refill water bottles.
DRESS FOR A MESS
Your child should wear clothes that are comfortable and suitable for hands-on, often messy fun!
A TYPICAL DAY of CAMP
Daily camp activities include structured art lessons based on camp themes, time to “free create,” as well as indoor and outdoor snack time. Many camps also include story times, gallery visits, outdoor art projects, garden scavenger hunts, and nature hikes.
During Morning, Lunch & Afternoon Care, campers will enjoy their lunch indoors before taking part in activities such as group art projects, outdoor games, and garden explorations. Campers are constantly supervised and will be escorted to and from their classes by camp staff.
CELL PHONE/ELECTRONICS POLICY
While Cheekwood understands it is very important to reach your child, we highly discourage phone and other electronic devices in class. Cheekwood cannot and will not be responsible for loss or damage to your children's electronic equipment, including but not limited to cell phones, laptops, tablets, kindles, cords and chargers, etc. If it is necessary that your child bring an electronic device to camp, we ask that it is kept off or on silence and is put away during class time.
CAMP INTERNS & VOLUNTEERS

Inquire about course credit for college students or service hours through your high school. Submit your application and schedule request to the Volunteer Office at email@example.com. *Interns & Volunteers must be 15 years and older.
