Girl Scout Adventure and Leader Appreciation Day at Cheekwood
Saturday, May 4
11am – 2pm
On this special day of recognition, girls will explore Cheekwood as they take garden tours, participate in gallery talks and do hands-on art and garden activities. Leaders will be honored during a reception that celebrates their hard work and commitment to Girl Scouts.
Activities include:
• Insects in the Garden Tour
• Flowers at Cheekwood Garden Tour
• Amazing Trees Tour
• Sculpture Trail Hike
• Gallery Talks with Museum Docents
• Outdoor Watercolor Painting
• Insect Art Activity
• Self-guided Activities to do at your own pace - Botanical Bingo,
Howe Garden Activity Book and Backpack Adventure
• Leader Appreciation Reception
Admission for this event is $3 per girl scout, $10 per adult (troop leader and co-leader are free) and $5 per sibling. Pre-registration is required. Payment must be made upon arrival. Groups are welcome to bring a picnic lunch or make reservations in Cheekwood’s restaurant, The Pineapple Room. Cheekwood badges will be available for purchase.

Museum and Garden Tours
Cheekwood offers guided and self-guided tours for groups of 12 or more. Visits must be scheduled two weeks in advance through the Education department to receive the group price of $3 per child and $10 per adult. We offer tours in the Museum of Art and gardens. Popular tours for groups include:
Discover Cheekwood
Learn about the history of Cheekwood and the art collection as you tour the Museum of Art.
Garden Adventure
Explore plants, animals, habitats and the environment as you enjoy a tour of the botanical garden.
Self-Guided Activities
Cheekwood offers a variety of self-guided activities for groups that can be picked up at Botanic Hall when you arrive. These activities include:

Backpack Adventure
Now your young adventurers can get more out of their visit with Cheekwood’s Backpack Adventure. Pick up a backpack when you visit, and inside you will find interactive and fun activities to use as you explore Cheekwood’s nature neighborhood! You can create a customized Color Garden, play the Cheekwood Challenge card game, and discover patterns in the Japanese Garden! Each pack is stuffed with enough supplies for up to three children. Check out a Backpack at Visitor Services in Botanic Hall to enhance your young visitor’s Cheekwood experience.
