Cheekwood in the Community

ARTSprouts is an outreach program that brings engaging discussion and hands-on activities focused on art and the natural world to youth in our community.

Community organizations are invited to apply for ARTSprouts to visit their facility this summer! This free program is available to youth organizations in Davidson, Williamson, Rutherford and Wilson Counties. If selected to participate, planning and site visits will take place this spring, and the ARTSprouts program will take place in June or July.

The 2014 program will include a visual tour and discussion about Cheekwood’s botanical garden and art collection, an opportunity to learn about artists Andy Warhol and Patrick Dougherty, and hands-on art making inspired by two of Cheekwood’s summer exhibitions – Andy Warhol’s Flowers and Artist-in-Residence: Patrick Dougherty. Each youth that participates in the program will receive a free family pass to visit Cheekwood after the program has concluded.
